'Yellow race' envoy to meet ministry bosses in Jerusalem Thursday - Haaretz - Israel News: "Israeli Ambassador to Australia, Naftali Tamir, will hold a crucial meeting in Jerusalem Thursday with Foreign Ministry officials in their continued effort to determine whether the diplomat in fact made controversial statements attributed to him in an interview with Haaretz last week.

In the interview, Tamir was quoted as calling Israel and Australia 'sisters' in Asia, adding: 'We are in Asia without the characteristics of Asians. We don't have yellow skin and slanted eyes. Asia is basically the yellow race. Australia and Israel are not - we are basically the white race.'
